Comparing broadband modem and router performance issues...
I'm checking with 4G for my internet performance. I use a broadband modem (works well for travel) and a router—Huawei E5577, Asus RT-AC1200G+ with D-Link DWM-222. The modem speed test shows 40mbps, but the router only reports 15mbps. My setup is default, no blocking any sites or complicated settings. Is there something in the router configuration that might be limiting my speed? It's a bit confusing.
Are you connecting two routers to boost coverage? Or using them sequentially? If acting as range extenders, that’s typical. I have a wired router and an additional one for extending signal. I’m getting about 50MBps from the first and roughly 18-23 from the second. I’ve heard that the extender might only provide half or less of the main router’s speed. In your setup, since your Huawei is directly linked to the internet, it should deliver the highest performance compared to the others, which you likely use for internet distribution or extension.
