i guess. feel like non-gamers and production people can use any computer at this point. I just want to see if theres a noticeable improvement from getting an upgrade other than like 60more fps on my games.

Intel's security patches often disrupt older chip models, even during routine activities such as Windows updates. I'd only update those devices.

Chrome ran smoother after switching to an i5-12400F compared to my previous Haswell Xeon E3-1231v3, even though both had 16GB of RAM. The Xeon came with 16GB DDR3-2400 while the 12400F used 16GB DDR4-3200, both in dual-channel 2x8GB configurations. With many tabs open (20+), performance improved noticeably. It might also help that the Xeon had fresh thermal paste instead of old stuff.

The 5600x will really impress a 4690k. This processor feels almost outdated, but it’ll run smoother than anything you’ve seen.

I upgraded from a 3770K to a 5600X. That X is clearly the stronger option overall, handling all tasks better. It’s also likely more energy-efficient.

They tested performance in benchmarks and saw the 5600x barely keeping up with the 10700K. Swapping 5600x with 10700K gives a clear sense of the gap.
