Hello. The differences between Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 mainly lie in features and stability rather than raw performance. It seems overly hopeful. There’s essentially no distinction, just proceed with 8.1—it’s significantly improved over 8 in terms of the interface.

Sure, I can get any operating system from torrent sites at no cost, though many aren't safe. The only reliable version I've had so far is Windows 8. Are you asking about getting updates for Windows?

No new releases for Windows 8. Upgrade to 8.1 works best. Avoid staying on Windows 8.
