I might restart only a few times, like 10 seconds versus 5 seconds doesn’t really matter to me.

I mainly stuck with Windows 8.1 instead of Windows 7 since I got it free through my university, but after setting up my PC it really took hold over the week and I’ve started to enjoy it. I initially dismissed the Start Menu and waited a few days before installing Classic Shell to go back to Windows 7, but I ended up not doing that because I really like this updated interface. I wouldn’t return to Windows 7 now—it’s really improved for me.

Advantages: Smoother performance, quicker boot times, simpler navigation after some use, more tailored settings
Disadvantages: It feels almost identical to Windows 7 except for the Start Menu that many dislike without actually using it. I believe most people who complain about the Start Menu haven’t tried it themselves firsthand. Give it a try for a short period and you’ll likely find it much more intuitive and easier to work with, particularly with the Power User menu (right-click the Start button).
