I did that, its still got the metro crap on here. You have to deal with metro regardless.
I’m fine with booting from my system all the time, but does it offer higher FPS in games? I don’t have any games running below 60fps at once, and most of them consistently hit around 120+fps. I also need to go back to DOS so I can play some old games I used to play as a kid. Windows 8.1 doesn’t support DOS.
Check the start screen for Metro apps and delete them if you don’t want them anymore.
It already includes an updated DirectX release, so Win 7 is fine. DirectX 12 is expected soon, possibly after Christmas, and it should deliver strong performance—roughly 20% to 50%.
I might be missing a free Windows 10 update (according to the rumors).
