Hello, I'm feeling a bit frustrated. I'm in Belgium and my ISP offers gigabit speeds. I turned it on but rarely exceed 200 Mbps. When I contacted the ISP, a technician performed speed tests using his laptop connected via Ethernet. He achieved up to 960 Mbps. I created an USB drive with the latest Ubuntu version and ran speedtest.net again—results matched the technician's. I'm puzzled about why Windows isn't delivering higher speeds. My PC specs are: Intel Core i7 4790K (haswell), ASUS Maximus VII Ranger motherboard, 16 GB DDR3 RAM, no HDD, all storage swapped to SSD. I've tried disabling Windows Defender, removing the Ethernet driver, installing the latest updates, enabling high performance mode, and turning off antivirus. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Are you testing speeds using a wired or wireless connection? Are there any additional network hardware besides your ISP equipment? Can you share the brands or models of those devices? Were you adjusting any network or TCP/IP settings in Windows?

You checked my message thoroughly. I don’t have problems with Linux Ubuntu on a USB drive. That’s why your questions might seem unrelated. Everything relates to the Cat 5e cable and the switch with 10/100/1000 ports.
