Here’s what people are saying about Windows 10 versus Windows 11. Most appreciate the stability and familiar interface of Windows 10, while Windows 11 offers newer features and performance improvements. Some users find the new design and hardware requirements in Windows 11 to be a bit challenging. Overall, it depends on your needs and what you value most.

I choose Windows 11 since I have a vertical screen and enjoy using Windows + Z to align windows at the top and bottom. That’s all the real reason.

The most useful guidance you’ll get today is to avoid 11 for as long as possible. My current setup uses 11 Pro on my new build, but it’s not working well. The only reason I haven’t switched down to 10 is because I’m too lazy. There’s still no solution for the extremely slow file explorer when dealing with mechanical drives, strange problems with older network printers, and a recent mistake with the task manager color theme. These are just a handful of clearly foolish issues I’ve run into, and each one has been discussed online.

You're hearing that a lot now. I'm getting a laptop for work with Windows 11 Pro already installed, and I'm thinking about switching to Windows 10 before I even start using it. Thanks.

I haven’t faced any problems with Windows 11 on my laptop, though I’m unsure about the new right-click layout. My current setup uses Windows 10, and I’m thinking about switching to it.

Windows 11 doesn’t seem severe enough to need a reinstall for Windows 10. However, upgrading from 10 to 11 isn’t recommended unless you use tall displays.

You'll be fine either way, especially if it is a work laptop. My frustration is primarily due to the excruciatingly low file explorer speed with mechanical drives and the whole network printer saga. Every windows 10 computer I have at home sees the printer without problems, but not this bastard. Other things are mainly annoyances, the kind I don't recall seeing since windows 98.
