I found a chance to buy an Intel i(14900K) at a reasonable cost. I don’t plan to overclock; my work involves video editing, motion graphics, photo editing, and graphic design. I also play games like CS2, Crew2, FC6, NFS Unbound, Doom, and my monitor is a 34-inch 144Hz display with a 3440 x 1440 resolution. Right now I use a Ryzen 9 5900X with Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite 32GB (16x2) DDR4-3200 RAM, a 360mm liquid cooler from Zotac 4070 Ti, and a Corsair RM750i PSU. I’m evaluating whether upgrading the CPU, motherboard, RAM, and cooler would be worthwhile for a total refresh—especially aiming for a 14900K processor board around $200–230. I’d like 64GB of RAM (DDR5 6000) and a liquid cooler if needed. My 5900X has been in use for about three years. My goal is to extend my system lifespan to another three years, possibly with another upgrade like the 6070 Ti Super or 7070 Ti Super Pro Max Ultra later. Please share your thoughts; I’m still a bit concerned about the stability of the 14900K.

Now it seems like a prolonged wait is expected before the CPUs perform well. A 14900k isn’t worth it unless you can secure it at an extremely low price, which raises red flags. It might actually be a CPU that has been compromised, with someone shifting its issues to another party who lacks expertise. What are you planning for video editing and motion graphics? That’s practically irrelevant if you’re not using specialized software. These programs often have odd behaviors, so more details would be useful. You’ll likely face delays of three to four years or more for the 6070, and eight to twelve years for the next generation model. Is your 5900x having trouble handling what you need? It’s not a poor chip overall.
It's a brand new chip, purchased for 250USD via the employee benefit scheme. The degradation aspect seems unnecessary here. For my work, I rely on Adobe Suites; it really depends on the project, and currently 5900X handles most tasks I need. The H150 should easily handle a 253W locked 14900K unit if your case provides good airflow.

I steer clear of the x900X because it offers only six cores per chiplet compared to eight on the x800X or x950X. Multi-chip setups can also lead to problems with certain games, and constantly juggling core usage becomes tiring. If you mainly run linear programs without heavy multi-core demands and want smooth gaming, consider a 7800X3D or 9800X3D. I don’t see much value in Intel anymore for buying CPUs. Even the 7800X3D outperforms the newest Ultra 285K in many titles. My nephew recently swapped to a 7800X3D with the Phantom Spirit cooler, maintaining under 70°C even during intense sessions—his 9700K performance jump was remarkable.
I test my 5900X with 260/170/200 -25 AC +200 settings. Would that improve its performance? I've never used it at full stock before.
