From a cost-per-performance standpoint, the 5700X3D seems reasonable. However, given that OP might be incentivized to secure the 5600X, choosing the 5600X appears more logical.
Thanks for the response. I was considering x3d chips first, but they were a bit over budget. They cost around 200-250 in the UK. On the other hand, getting the 5600x now provides both cash back and improved performance. I can use the earnings to save up for an x3d chip. For reference, this is for my nephew’s system. The current rig uses a 3800 XT with a bequite dark rock pro 4, 16GB 3200MHz Corsair LPX, plus another 16GB 3200MHz coming soon. It’s running a GTX 1050 Ti and will upgrade soon. The board is an MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX, which I plan to replace with an MSI MAG B550 soon. He mainly plays esports games, especially Valorant, getting about 120-150 FPS. He uses a Viewsonic 27-inch 1080p 144Hz monitor. I’m encouraging him to try different titles and upgrading his setup.
