I previously aimed to suggest 2700 units, but after facing ongoing challenges in finding suitable affordable RAM that maximizes its potential, I’ve decided to step back. Compatibility issues and the limited range of compatible kits make it difficult to stay within a budget. The 3600 model delivers stronger gaming performance, and given how selective 2700x is with DRAM options, you can easily find multiple 3600 speed kits that work with Ryzen 3000 processors. These will provide optimal performance for around $70–80 (Ripjaws and OLOy). I recommend the R5 3600 and 3600-speed RAM instead of spending more on kits that only support 2800–3200 speed 16GB units, which may result in a slower overall gaming experience despite having extra cores.

RAM timings vary; both options are compatible with Ryzen 3000 series. If you need a motherboard, consider MSI MAX boards such as B450 A-Pro, Gaming Plus, or Tomahawk (especially outside North America). For US buyers near a MicroCenter, ASRock B450M Pro4 is a solid choice, though online versions may not be fully updated for Ryzen 3000. All options support an 8-core processor and can upgrade to a 12-core system, making them suitable for a 6-core setup.
I’d still look into various RAM kits either way. It might differ in Hungary, but I’ve often struggled to locate good, high-speed RAM that fits a motherboard’s QVL for Pinnacle Ridge (2000 series) and Matisse (3000 series). If you’re on a tighter budget but want the best performance from your system, that usually comes down to it.
The G.SKILL Sniper X 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz F4-3600C19D-16GSXWB offers a more affordable option. For the motherboard, I plan to use the Tomahawk Max, hoping to secure it at a reasonable cost.
