I'm just saying that there is a high probability that i7 8700k will be the only CPU you can put on the Z370 chipset. Who cares if the socket is alive if you have to change motherboard every single time? Do you think that i7 7700k owners felt like their socket is alive when 8700k launched and they learned that they have to buy a new mobo if they want to upgrade?
I believe a Ryzen 2600x fits better than a 6800k based on our pricing and stock. If your entire 6800k setup is significantly more affordable, it’s wiser to choose that path. Performance-wise, they’d be comparable in theory.
