I've been considering upgrading my 7700k and have two options in mind: buy the 10700k now for $350 or wait for the R7 5800x at $450. The performance boost from the new processor would matter, but I'm not sure it's worth the extra $100. PCIe gen 4 is a factor, though I don't think it'll make a huge difference in gaming. What do you think?
