Hey everyone, my 4690k 4.6GHz is starting to feel outdated, especially in certain games where it’s holding me back compared to my 1080ti. I’ve checked several benchmark sites—while the 13500t does have a better CPU score, it doesn’t really boost my FPS much at 2K resolution. Games like Battlefield 2042 are nearly impossible to play smoothly with only 30fps now. I can get the 13500t for a low cost from an old machine, but I’d still need to upgrade my motherboard and RAM. Any thoughts would be really helpful.

In contemporary games such as 2042 and other CPU-intensive titles, the 13500T can completely defeat the 4690k. You'll also get optimal performance from the 1080ti. Four cores are quite limited today, even for older CPUs like the 4690k.

You're seeing a huge jump in performance between the two thread counts. The 13,500 threads are clearly much faster than the 20,000, especially for tasks that love multiple cores like Battlefield. With 6 performance cores and 8 extra cores, it's set to handle demanding workloads way better.

It's a 4-core, 4-thread processor from an older i5 model. It lacks hyperthreading capabilities.

The data suggests consistent progress, though not dramatic. Cinebench R23 performance doesn’t seem to improve much with cache size, which is expected as core efficiency has risen more recently. Testing with Warframe on different CPUs confirmed strong results, especially with newer cards like the 1080ti. Upgrading to a new platform might yield better returns than spending heavily on a single GPU.

Hey team, your comments are well thought out. The main reason I paused was the lower TDP and fewer E cores, which made me think a CPU wouldn't be suitable for gaming.
