Compare Ryzen 7 2700X and 3700X for performance and features.
Hello! From the title you’ve given, it’s clear you’re considering upgrading. The 2700X costs 190€ and the 3700X is 330€, which adds about 140€ more. Is that enough to justify it? I’m planning a build with an Nvidia 1060gtx, 6GB RAM, 16GB storage, Micro-ATX MSI B450M Pro-VDH, and a Corsair 600 power supply. The CPU cooler will be the one for a while. I’m mainly a 3D modeler, so my setup is focused on performance for work, but I also play a lot. Would the Ryzen 7 3700X really outperform the 2700X by that amount? Let me know if you need more details to decide. Thanks in advance!
You're currently working on something and want to enhance a specific part of the process. In my view, CPU renderers such as Fusion360's default scale perfectly across all cores at 100%, and they perform similarly to Cinebench for benchmarking. Consider focusing on the differences in Cinebench scores to assess if the performance gain justifies the effort.
Also, note that with a GPU-accelerated renderer (like Blender), the timing will be much closer between the two.
It doesn't seem like the investment is worth that much anymore. The price for my 2700x model is similar now, but it's worth less than before. If you buy a 3700X soon, it could drop to around $100 less. In about a year, the Ryzen 4000 desktop might be released later this year if AMD keeps their timeline.
