I checked YouTube, found a video, and spent a few minutes watching it. It seems you could save the money and invest in a 3500 when it comes to gaming. Essays and office work need only about 6 cores, and I don’t really understand what "project works" means.
I've used PowerPoint on a 2c/4t ultrabook, so I'm uncertain about the benefit of those extra 6 threads. If you use it often, it could make a difference. If it's only occasionally, skip it.
