You're considering upgrading your hardware for better performance in Battlefield 5 and other games. Switching from an i7 6700k to an i5 3600 or a more powerful motherboard like the RX 5700 XT could definitely help. I'd recommend checking out a solid motherboard such as the ASUS PRIME Z690 or MSI MEG for better stability and future-proofing. Your goal of boosting performance is smart—go for it!

6700K upgrade isn't necessary. Slightly increase the OC, but it's still a solid chip. 5700XT is a good choice, especially if you're aiming for 1440p.

Upgrading both would be a solid move. The transition from 6700k to 8086k gave me a smoother overall experience. If you can't afford both, prioritize the one that's more restrictive in gameplay and tackle the weaker part first. I think the GPU might be the issue, though BFV also seems quite CPU-heavy.
