It includes the feature, though similar tools rely on their own catalog system. You can't simply connect a device and start scanning; you need to add all files to Photos first.

Sure, I'm relieved the import section isn't a concern. As long as the image quality and folder organization remain intact, that's all that matters. Perfect.

Test it on a limited batch first, since that’s what AFAIK happens. That means after importing, a duplicate appears in the "photos library" with its own directory, and you’ll have to re-export to retrieve the original files.
