Compare Intel i3-10100F and RYZEN 3 2200G at the same cost.
Initially, I wasn't able to access online stores or international platforms. My options are strictly local. The dollar-to-pound exchange rate is around 16.7. That’s why I’m reaching out because most CPU recommendations online highlight AMD chips, yet here in my area, Intel Core i3-10100F is the top choice. It costs about 1550 pounds. The cheapest AMD option is the RYZEN 3 2200G for roughly 1600 pounds. While the 2200G offers strong GPU performance, since I’m using a dedicated GPU, it doesn’t really matter much. Still, the i3-10100F performs better overall. Higher benchmarks confirm this. Even at higher prices like the Ryzen 5 2600 (2400 pounds), the i3-10100F still delivers better results in many games—sometimes up to a few frames per second improvement. The trade-off is paying more for less performance, but it’s worth it for the value. I prefer the i3-10100F because it’s cheaper than the integrated GPU versions, which have poor graphics. It also helps me compare what others are saying about AMD. On Amazon, the i3-10100F now costs $159.99, while the Ryzen 3 2200G is $199.95—about $40 more. I’m worried about staying within budget and wouldn’t want to risk losing money on a subpar experience. I’m used to buying PoS PCs, and this i3 feels like a solid upgrade even if it’s not the absolute best. I just hope someone will suggest an upgrade someday.
The i3 10100f runs much quicker than the 2200G and offers a superior choice if you don’t need the built-in GPU.
10100F offers superior single-core and multicore speed, along with 16 PCI-e lanes for a GPU compared to the 8 lanes on the 2200G.
Avoid comparing chips on biased sites like cpuBOSS, UserBenchmark, Versus or Game Debate—they often give misleading info. Opt for personal reviews from reliable sources, ideally several opinions. Also, consider Intel’s own insights, especially if you already have a GPU to showcase performance. A 10400 is still competitive if you can afford it.
More affordable, unfortunately not anymore. The 2200G is significantly older than 10100F; when 2200G arrived with Intel's i3 chips, it didn't have HT, but now it does.
