Hey! I haven't updated much lately. I recently upgraded my setup with a R5 2400G, Gigabyte AB350N, and InWin Chopin. My system is still running below its potential even after two years. I've experimented with XMP profiles, manual overclocking, and DRAM calculators, but nothing seems to help. Now I'm considering a new build. I'm leaning toward the FlareX C14 or C16 since they seem more affordable and compatible. What do you think about the value of the latency improvements? The price gap between these models is roughly 40–50 dollars. Any other suggestions beyond the FlareX would be great!
Have you explored the Ryzen RAM timing calculator? Typhoon or similar options...I don’t recall the precise title. I bought 3200MHz RAM (using a 2400MHz setup) and it wouldn’t boot until I adjusted the timings via that tool.
I used higher voltage than standard (DRAM 1.4V) with SOC around 1.15V, but it still didn’t work. I switched to white variants before moving to TridentZs. Setting XMP alone wasn’t enough—I got frustrated and skipped manual timing. Finally, I managed to activate the C16 FlareX. I found a decent price on them.
The only remaining aspect is the bios updates, though you've likely completed those. The memory tracking on the board would be unusual, especially at faster speeds.
Sure. I've checked XMP and manual timing settings across two years of BIOS releases regarding memory tracing.
