OneDrive offers more space than Google Drive and automatically syncs my phone photos and documents to it. It functions on all my devices (macOS, Windows 8.1, Android).

OneDrive for you. The connection with Windows and Office, (and soon XBox Music, including syncing your own tunes) is essential. You can accomplish everything GoogleDrive handles, plus you can access Office online via your web browser, free of charge (Office 365 or not), and your files stay intact.

Microsoft made me really upset by tying my Microsoft account to OneDrive, preventing a switch to my university email and limiting business use. I still plan to use OneDrive too. Google Drive is the alternative for me.

I strongly dislike Dropbox because I need to use a different app for it. OneDrive is already set up on my PC and works closely with Windows 8. I can store my files directly in the cloud from Office 2013 without any extra steps afterward. Additionally, I can open them instantly through the recently created files in Office.

The system keeps blocking access because someone else has the file open locally. It seems the permissions or recent changes might have been made outside your control.
