Compare Cooler Master GX III 850 and Coolermaster V850 Gold to see which suits your needs better.
Hey everyone.
I’m planning to replace my current PSU, a Cooler Master G750m that’s reaching its 11th year. I should keep in mind that in May I’ll switch from a 2070 to a 4070 Ti Super, and my PSU is nearing the end of its warranty. Upgrading is definitely necessary.
Which PSU should I choose? The GX III Gold with the 90 degree 12V HWPR cable or the V850 i Multi with the semi digital feature? Both have pros and cons.
The Gold i Multi offers more SATA ports than the GX III Gold (which might be useful for my RGB controller and fans), but it doesn’t include the 90 degree cable. It also has a semi digital interface, while the GX III Gold lacks that.
The price gap between them is about 20-30 euros.
Which one do you think would work best for your system?
Thanks in advance!

The V850i performs significantly better and operates much quieter. A review of the GXIII is available, and a chart features the V850i.
You're also noticed that the setup lacks the 90 degree cables, which might be important for your needs. It's worth considering whether using such cables would affect the v850i or if you should still choose it despite this limitation. After all, everything represents a significant improvement compared to the g750m, which is only in bronze.
I just purchased an additional cable featuring a 90-degree connector, similar to the one shown here: https://www.alternate.nl/html/product/100037137. The 12vhpwr model offers identical pin configuration on both sides. The brand isn't important.
