Your motherboard is a Gigabyte AORUS Elite AX V2. You're considering whether 4x8 or 2x16 RAM configurations would be better, and you want to know if the difference is perceptible.

Zen 3 excels especially with dual-rank memory, which is common for most 16GB modules, though 4x8 can also mimic that boost. In short, it really works well regardless of the setup.

Using two sticks is simpler, particularly when just one rank is involved. I’d choose two sticks (no joke). If there’s any variation in results, it wouldn’t be obvious without a proper synthetic test.

The ideal stick count matches the number of channels, which here is two because it's a dual channel setup. Having four sticks doesn't always affect performance; it can vary based on your board, power supply, and IMC strength. You might face problems like the PC failing to boot or running at limited memory speeds, but running four total ranks—either two dual or four single—can help with Ryzen. Eight GB sticks are single rank, thirty-two GB sticks are dual rank, and sixteen GB sticks have different configurations depending on the manufacturer.

If the 16GB sticks are of one level, then 4x8 works better. That's not a big problem.
