Besides what vendors list on their sites, the X570 offers greater bandwidth through its chipset compared to the B550, which is attractive for users with heavy storage and extra expansion needs. However, the chipset fan tends to be more common in the X570. Power delivery levels usually stay similar between the two, though the B550 may excel in memory overclocking. This has kept prices relatively stable.

Still, some believe they require a VRM capable of handling higher voltages for their 3600 or 3700X on aio boards. Beyond 3900X, better VRMs become more important, and the price gap between x570 and lower models less noticeable compared to overall system cost. This makes it reasonable for fans who avoid cooling systems to opt for the b550.

Same here, it varies quite a bit unless you're handling heavy workloads (I'm on a Tomahawk X570). Still, no one would have been better, but they wouldn't have been willing to compromise. Many other X570 models position the fan near the GPU, and usually the cooling fins direct warm air toward it—this can make the unit run hotter and spin faster, which some might find annoying. That’s likely why I chose the Tomahawk instead of MSI’s earlier models, which had either higher costs or less powerful VRMs.
