Hi, with a $300 budget I limited my options to three motherboards. The top pick is the ASUS ROG Strix X570-E at $299, offering the best overall features. Another solid choice is the ASUS ROG Strix B550-E for $279, providing strong performance and decent value. The Gigabyte Aorus Master B550 comes in at $279, featuring better VRM but lacking internal USB-C, which has raised some concerns on Amazon. I’m leaning toward pairing any of these with a 3700 CPU and either an 2070 Super or 5700 XT GPU, though I might hold off on the newer models for now.
These are high-performance jet skis designed for speed and agility. The B550-F and B550/X570 models offer advanced features like lightweight construction, powerful engines, and enhanced stability for racing conditions.
You’d waste a lot of money, especially with the two B550 models. If you choose B550, it doesn’t make sense to buy a board over $200, because you can get everything you need from a B550 at $180 (B550 Aorus Pro, Gaming Edge WIFI, Tomahawk, Strix -F). Here’s why I’d avoid those options: Strix X570-E: an X570 Unify is available for the same price and performs better. Strix B550-E: the B550-F version provides similar features but lacks the internal Type-C connector and is still too costly for B550. B550 Aorus Master: dual BIOS setup makes memory overclocking difficult and it’s also very expensive. If you need more PCIe 4.0 lanes, consider an X570 Tomahawk around $210 instead. Otherwise, stick with the B550 boards I mentioned earlier. Save the money for better storage, RAM, GPU—or maybe pizza.
B550-F offers fewer options and lacks a VRM module. MSI X570 costs $360 plus, especially amid recent MSI issues I’m hesitant about backing them up.
Confidently 8 sic639 units are more than sufficient. Focus on the product quality rather than the brand. Priced high. Excellent performance, but quite extravagant. For the b550, models like the Strix F, Aorus Pro, Tomahawk, Mortar, and Steel Legend stand out. The X570 is solid with Tomahawk or Unify as premium alternatives.
The x570 tomahawk is currently hard to find at a fair price. Strix-f it seems.
