Comparing the options, the Asus AX6100 seems more suitable for your setup. It offers a higher price point but includes more Ethernet ports for direct connections, which can enhance performance. The Nest Wi-Fi system provides ease of use and strong coverage, complementing your existing Asus devices. Your current router setup works well with your existing hardware, so upgrading to the AX6100 could improve reliability and future-proof your network.

The main difference lies in WiFi 6 versus WiFi 5. My sister uses the older Google Router model before Nest branding. It functions properly, though her space is smaller than yours. Installation was straightforward, but the downside is the absence of Ethernet ports—you’d need a switch for more connections. Regarding AX technology, it represents a newer standard, which means you’ll incur the higher cost for newer features. The protocol isn’t fully optimized yet, so some advanced functions might be missing. Still, it should technically offer better speed than WiFi 5. ASUS is recognized as a leading brand, and they’re praised for reliable firmware updates in both stock and Merlin versions.
