Do you have any suggestions for the top overclocking kits that work well for both of these? I'm trying to play games and so far it's holding up. I should consider upgrading soon, but I'm hoping for a good deal in the next 1 or 2 years. Thanks for your help!
You should be able to achieve 4.5GHz with that configuration. Begin increasing the multiplier in the BIOS gradually, one step at a time, and monitor the results. When errors appear, raise the processor voltage accordingly and continue testing. Download and install AMD Overdrive from https://www.techspot.com/downloads/4645-...drive.html to evaluate temperature and voltage data. Utilize Logging to observe the process during tests.
CountMike suggests avoiding OC attempts without a solid aftermarket CPU cooler. He emphasizes that OC depends heavily on the motherboard and case cooling setup. He explains that even with the same CPU, performance differences can arise based on the chip and the specific cooler used. He notes that some CPUs may not overclock effectively, while others could reach significant boosts before overheating. He also mentions that GPU overclocking is similar, though it depends on what people are actually pushing.
