I’m not a gamer, yet I’m planning a full PC build from the ground up. I’m struggling to choose between the Ryzen 7 2700X and the Threadripper 1920x. While most PC discussions focus on gamers, I’m aiming for strong performance now and in the coming years. Which platform offers better upgrade potential and long-term value? Tr4 is an unused setup, AM4 seems to have extra CPU capacity. Combined with the fact it appears you don’t require multiple lanes, using a Threadripper might not be necessary. But... could you clarify your goals for the system?
