I'm just starting out with PC gaming after spending most of my life on consoles. I've seen discussions online about which games perform better on Nvidia or AMD GPUs. It's hard to know which major company supports one over the other, especially since I'm more comfortable with Nvidia products. Can anyone clarify which companies are favored and recommend some games that work well with them? I'm still learning and want to make sure I choose the right ones.

It’s unlikely to have a big impact on performance, unless someone discovers that XYZ functions better with YXY. Certain games, like GTA V, often perform better with specific hardware manufacturers such as nVidia, either intentionally or by chance.

the mantle serves a purpose beyond being waste, helping games utilize the processor more efficiently and improve performance. amd ceased development since their aim to create a standard that achieves this (dx12) is now complete.

Someone posted on this forum saying Minecraft performed better on AMD versus the other way around, though I can't recall the exact details. It seems like a claim that might be considered misleading, just like the idea that GTA V runs better with Nvidia. Generally, the manufacturer of the graphics card doesn't significantly impact game performance.
