I adjusted my default app locations in both WOW6432NODE and MICROSOFT settings. All installed programs are placed in the expected x86 target, but they still appear in the usual directory. I’m wondering if modifying shortcuts could help, or if there’s a better way to set the default without issues. My system runs on a 128GB SSD with a 3TB HDD.

I keep my program files folders on both the boot drive and the storage drive. This means I need to adjust the installation spot manually when setting things up, but it makes the process much simpler. That way, system programs and runtimes like Java stay on the boot drive, while other files go on the storage drive.
