Hey there! So around 1-2 months ago my PSU failed while playing Payday 2, I replaced it with a new one and tried updating the drivers, which triggered the issues. The problems I’ve noticed include Steam needing compatibility mode, Chrome sometimes refusing to start after closing, and certain videos not playing or showing white boxes with no sound. It’s becoming quite frustrating. I’m considering a full OS reinstall just to get things back on track. Any advice would be great, thanks!

You were the same person who purchased the gutless wonder and then bought another one.

It seems you're asking about the PSU and some changes related to a 500 poster. Could you clarify what you mean by "PSU" and the context of the changes?

It's a standard 550-watt unit, nothing exceptional.

It seems like the issue might be with the RAM or drive, possibly linked to the power supply unit. Did you encounter any problems during the installation of Windows updates when the PSU failed? You might want to attempt a repair install—it can address underlying system issues without affecting software, games, or files.
