With the CPU I've noticed that after your adjustments, the thermal paste no longer spreads evenly.

You should probably use a different cooler if you always enable XMP.

Your XMP won't significantly affect CPU temperatures. It seems to be just requiring a fresh thermal paste application. The cooler on the 3700X is more than adequate. In practice, I've removed and replaced a cooler three times without reapplying paste and it still works well.
