Hello, I just assembled my initial gaming PC with these details: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 Graphics: nVIDIA GTX 1660 Super GDDR6 6GB (PALiT) RAM: HyperX Furry Black DDR4 4GB 3000Mhz (2x) Motherboard: GIGABYTE B450M S2H - AMD B450 Power supply: Corsair CV Series CV550 - 550W HDD: WD Blue (EZEX), 3,5" - 1TB 7200RPM In certain titles, such as GTA V, Star Wars Battlefront II and AC: Odyssey I, performance drops significantly. However, the impact varies slightly across games. GTA V: Operates smoothly at 60 FPS in story mode. Online play maintains around 60 FPS for about ten minutes before noticeable frame rate drops and audio stutter appears (CPU usage: 19-21%, GPU usage: 10%, RAM usage: 90%, HDD usage: 100%). Star Wars Battlefront II: Begins with lag of 10-25 FPS at start or on new maps, then stabilizes for the remainder (CPU: 46-50%, GPU: 98-100%, RAM: 95%, HDD: 100%). AC: Odyssey: Occasional FPS fluctuations and frequent slowdowns occur during fast travel until a restart. It’s unclear what’s causing these issues. I suspect the HDD might be too slow for large games. That’s why I’m reaching out for advice from more experienced users. Also, one minor detail I overlooked – my brother has an identical build except for a slightly different motherboard and HDD. He doesn’t face any of these problems. Thank you in advance for your assistance! P.S. My English isn’t perfect; I’m from the Czech Republic!

Could be your processor. Just don’t rely on it!

Hi, thanks for your response! I didn’t realize my brother had the same build—just a few variations like the GPU model, motherboard, and HDD type. He’s not having any issues, which makes me worry.

The 1060 is not as good as the 1660 super. Just run the games using Task Manager and check for GPU issues.

No, I haven't checked for updates yet. Would you like me to do that?

I attempted that; usually the GPU isn't fully utilized. It caps around 70-80%.

I played a complete Star Wars Battlefront II session using Task Manager. Here’s what the stats showed: CPU usage was between 40-55%, GPU usage ranged from 80-98%, and RAM was at 88%. After another test, I got CPU around 46-50% and GPU near 98-100%.
