I set up Lubuntu on an older machine, but when I power it on, only a command prompt appears. I can access it via the prompt, but I’m unsure how to proceed afterward. Can someone help me reach the graphical interface?

Use a display manager that asks for a password before launching the desktop. On Lubuntu, this is LightDM. From the terminal, you can stop and then restart it using commands like systemctl stop lightdm and systemctl start lightdm. Check if LightDM begins running successfully.
