Check your setup carefully. You can install the 32GB kit in slots 1, 3, and 16 while keeping the existing 2GB slot for 8GB. This gives you a total of 48GB with dual-channel support. Alternatively, removing the current 2GB slot and adding just the 32GB kit avoids conflicts. Make sure your motherboard supports dual-channel for the 32GB configuration to maximize performance.

You can proceed, but ensure they operate at 2666mhz. restart the CMOS before adding RAM. The BIOS will revert to its default state. Activate XMP on both devices and confirm they maintain 2666mhz.

The system sets RAM to the minimum standard. This ensures everything operates smoothly at 2666. Everything else is okay.

You can reset the CMOS in the BIOS before moving the 16GB drives, or you can install both drives together.

Another person advised you to reset the CMOS and enable XMP settings. Is this required?

Reset CMOS prior to installing the additional system. Otherwise, they will operate at 2133MHz

Running the 32GB model in slots 2 and 4 would also clear the CMOS. This will help you reset it before selling the 16GB unit and getting a new identical 32GB one.
