It didn’t power off immediately, so I used ear cleaning swabs and cleared it completely. The coffee spilled onto the mouse and caused a “usb port doesn’t have enough power” error, making several devices malfunction. After some testing, the computer eventually shut down. I tried pressing the power button but had no success. I unplugged the power supply and removed it, finding coffee inside one of the ports—possibly just a thin layer near the bottom. It might be around 1 cm wide starting from the middle. I’m considering disassembling it overnight to check if it works. The PSU was installed upside down, so nothing came in. I’m unsure what exactly is damaged and wondering whether replacing the PSU or the motherboard would help. There were no noises detected. Since the build process doesn’t seem relevant, I didn’t list parts or stats but thought it might be useful. The PSU model is rm850x.
Some damage likely caused a short circuit and immediate burning once the coffee reached them; drying won't assist. The issue isn't related to coffee or its components, not even water, but rather metal and salts in the water. You might try submerging or spraying a working, running PC with distilled water without further harm.
Water and electricity should never be combined.
I wouldn't rely on even purified water to clean a PC while it's operating.
Think about how the quality of distilled water might be limited at best.
The source must be thoroughly checked to ensure purity.
Even then, if impurities enter the system, the water could turn into a strong conductor.
Cleaning would probably result in serious damage.
