I updated the BIOS on the motherboard using a BIOS flasher via USB. After starting the build, I installed RAM (B1 and B2), added M.2 drives, placed the CPU inside, and connected all cables. Inside the case, I linked the GPU, powered on the PSU, and saw a black screen prompting me to press Y to reset. I then inserted a fresh Windows USB drive using the 11 Pro Media Creation Tool. After rebooting, the PC guided me through Windows setup.
I downloaded all required drivers except the graphics card driver, as I was attempting to install HyperCard and needed version five for M.2 support. I attempted a PCIe16x_2 bandwidth change from auto to PCIe RAID but still faced detection issues. The PC wouldn’t recognize the M.2 expansion card after several attempts—swapping the GPU (3070 Ti) didn’t help, adding extra RAM on B1/B2, re-plugging cables, changing monitors, and trying different USB ports didn’t resolve the problem.
I tried a new CPU but remain uncertain since I don’t have spare thermal paste. The error code D6 persisted for four hours. I consulted forums, learning that configuring PCIe RAID from auto to PCIe RAID resolved the issue. Eventually, I exited BIOS and successfully booted into the home screen.
I also encountered difficulties with driver updates and card recognition, which led me to consider a CPU replacement. It’s frustrating because I already tested both graphics cards and know they function properly.
You have ample storage space. Begin by powering down the PSU. Remove the RAM and all storage devices. Wipe CMOS either by disconnecting the CMOS battery while the PSU is off, or by clearing it while the PSU is running. Install the BIOS 1904. Format a USB flash drive to FAT32 and place the BIOS file on it. Connect RAM in slots A2 and B2, then power on the PSU. Insert the USB into the BIOS port—hold the BIOS key until blinking stops. This may take up to 5 minutes. Connect the monitor via the 4090 and turn on the PC. Wait for the BIOS splash screen to appear; it might require 2-3 restarts. Do not shut down the PC.
