Following the removal of the CMOS battery, the motherboard failed to power on. Trying to connect the power pins didn’t get it running. The only indication of power was a steady orange LED on the board, which didn’t flash or emit any sound. Because I’m on a tight budget, replacing the hardware isn’t an option this month. Over time, many components have been swapped out—case, power supply, graphics card, RAM, and storage devices are all non-standard. After testing the standard PSU, it seems the problem lies with the pins that connect to the power button.

No, I didn't turn off the PSU or disconnect the cable from the wall prior to proceeding.

I disabled the power source and took out the connection before proceeding.

Have you considered deleting the GPU and using your built-in graphics?

I’m having trouble getting it to start. The motherboard is receiving power, but I can see the LED indicating it’s not working.

I thought it could be related to the GPU being installed, so I suggested removing it. Are you seeing any other indicators of activity on your PC, such as a fan spinning or the hard drive working?

The sole indication of activity is the orange LED. The power switch connections do not respond when activated.

Begin with the GPU, remove it, and power it on. If it starts, repeat the process for RAM and drivers.
