M.2 Windows 10 Installation. My OEM is linked to the B450F motherboard, and the board seems to be non-functional now. If I clone the M.2 NVMe drive on my laptop to an external SSD and then move it back to the NVMe slot, will that avoid the Windows 10 setup code problem? Using AOMEI for this process?

It seems you're asking about the condition of your board and whether it shows any warning signs. I'd be happy to help clarify that! If you're experiencing issues, checking for error codes or debug lights can indicate problems like overheating, low power, or connectivity issues. Let me know more details so I can assist further.

The bios looks completely messed up on both the main and secondary boards. There aren’t any debug lights showing up.

Windows activation allows you to replace parts without turning off the system, provided you only modify a few components at once. Deactivating and then re-enabling it on another drive won’t affect the process.

Purchase a bios programmer such as ch341a w clip and attempt to flash the bios using the device. If the clip shows inconsistency, remove it and look for an adapter board with compatible pads for your bios chip. The bios chip is typically located close to the CMOS battery.

You might be able to install the NVMe drive directly onto the new motherboard without modifying the OEM serial code. However, since the original serial number is linked to the previous board, you may need to bypass or reset it through another method.

I’m sure this tool will help fix that board. I purchased an X570 since I intended to upgrade to a board supporting 4th gen NVMe M.2 for video editing and gaming. At least now I’ll avoid discarding the old one. I’m aiming to upgrade the CPU before the LGA AMD chipsets are released. Can there be a way to bypass the error code during the Windows installation?

With a Microsoft account it's linked, otherwise without the actual code you're in trouble. If you possess the license code, you can contact Microsoft and request activation.
