I purchased my new AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor today, and I’m certain it’s unusual when the performance drops under load. My cooler handles temperatures up to 77°C when BIOS is set at 4.5 GHz, which is within normal limits. I experimented with lowering the frequency to 4.3GHz, 4.0GHz, 3.8GHz, and 3.6GHz, but only at 3.6GHz did I avoid noticeable drops. When I increased the frequency to 4.5GHz in BIOS, the first few minutes of Valorant felt stable for me, with a FPS cap around 500 and occasional drops to 480. However, after a short play session, the game would stutter, frequency would plummet back to 500GHz, and FPS would drop sharply—sometimes by as much as 10 FPS. Despite this, my CPU temperature stayed under 77°C. My power plan is set to high performance with minimum usage at 100%, and I’ve already tried adjusting it. My components include an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, a GTX 1660 Super, 6GB RAM (3200MHz), an ASUS ROG Strix B450-F motherboard, a Megamax 700W power supply, and M.2 SSD. I’m not using XMP profiles; I simply set the RAM clock speed to 3200MHz. Recently, I reinstalled Windows, which seems to have cleared any lingering issues. I’m certain there’s no problem with my system, though some software still struggles to launch smoothly.

I understand it's for Fortnite and Valorant, but I play on low settings with my GPU usage between 50-80%. I'm sure it's fine. My CPU is set to Quiet mode. Pure Rock 2 works well.
