Do you know the clock generator for the i7 920? I have a prebuilt Dell Studio XPS 435T/9000 and am considering overclocking the CPU. I understand the dangers and know it's not advised to do this inside Windows. The system is nearing its limit, and I'm planning to replace it soon. The motherboard in use is the Dell 0X501H.

This could be the solution you were seeking.
The Clockgen,SetFSB method isn't very effective since voltage adjustment isn't possible. Throttlestop along with certain unlocked CPUs can yield satisfactory outcomes.
W3570 Xeon is very affordable, while W3680 offers significant performance. We'd appreciate seeing more XPS benchmarks there. Make sure to update your BIOS and chipset drivers first.

I'm actually about to receive a W3680, and someone recommended an alternative instead of purchasing a full new PC with a 3770. They also mentioned planning to attempt overclocking.
