I previously managed this with other motherboards using a screwdriver technique to connect the pins—unplugging the PC, checking the CMOS pins in the manual, briefly bridging them with a screwdriver. However, it doesn’t work on a B550 AORUS Elite. The only solution is removing the battery, which is tricky since it’s located behind the GPU. It lacks a visible CMOS button. What might I have overlooked?

Ignoring the humor, the guide explains that the clear CMOS jumper is positioned directly above the front panel connector.

Understand that it won’t function properly with jumpers. Ensure your screwdriver is clean and non-conductive. Leave it in place for about 10 to 15 seconds.

The safest approach is to cut off the power source via the on/off switch in the rear or by removing the power cord. Allow a minimum of 5-10 seconds so the 5V standby circuit discharges completely. Alternatively, you can short the pins or unplug the battery; however, the CMOS might still receive power through the standby voltage from your supply.
