The only reason I’d consider removing CMOS during setup is when purchasing a refurbished motherboard. A brand new board comes pre-configured to its standard settings, making CMOS clearing just an additional step. However, with a used board, you can’t be sure if the CMOS was cleared or if the system was reset before shipping.
