Hello everyone, I just installed a new machine with the EVGA Z790 Classified motherboard. This is my first EVGA build and I'm encountering some strange, occasional problems. The main issue is that after restarting the computer, it will automatically open BIOS setup and prompt me to confirm if I want to enter it. This happens without me pressing F2 or deleting during boot. Sometimes it just asks if you'd like to proceed, other times it mentions things like "Your CPU has changed" or "Your RAM configuration has changed." It's quite confusing. Do you have any advice or experiences with this situation?

Start by removing the button cell first. There should be a small CR2032 or similar on the board. Take it out and insert a fresh one from a store. This avoids the chance of a faulty cell. Note: Changing the battery will reset the BIOS, so you'll see the initial BIOS screen during the first boot. Follow the manual to load the optimized default settings and it should stop automatically.

Great idea! I was a bit surprised I didn’t consider trying that.

Is the boot sequence pointing to your storage drive? Are the BIOS configurations saved or cleared each time? Does the system include a CMOS battery? It might be worth verifying that it’s functioning properly! Updated April 3, 2023 by KeDoBro ChonkerFox beat me to it lol, need to refresh page before commenting :p
