Classic titles for emulation
He’s building an old-school arcade setup using a Raspberry Pi. Great idea! For the 80s, consider titles like Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga, and Street Fighter II. For the 70s, think Pac-Man, Space Invaders, and Donkey Kong. These classics fit perfectly with his project.
I really have a collection of old 80s games from a CD that I used to play with an emulator on my old PC, but it stopped working. If I can, I’ll take them out and organize them into a Google Drive folder.
The advantage of the files he displays is that they are labeled.
For me, the best arcade titles of the 1980s included Ms Pacman, Shinobi, Double Dragon, Galaga, Zaxxon, Golden Axe, Kung Fu Master, Contra, Donkey Kong Jr., Ghosts and Goblins, Pole Position, Frogger, Pacman Qix, Out Run, Track and Field, Moon Patrol, Phoenix, Donkey Kong, Robocop, Karnov, Missile Command, Mario Brothers, Dig Dug, Defender Gauntlet, Q-Bert, Punch Out, Paperboy, Gyruss Shadow Dancer. In the 1970s, my favorites were Asteroids, Breakout and Space Invaders. Galaxian was decent too, though its follow-up Galaga surpassed it in every aspect.
Dragon Ninja (probably meant bad dudes in the US) and I struggled to use my keyboard with the emulator. Back then, a 3D arcade Star Wars game was really great, and the original Street Fighter arcade version came out in 1987.
