My PC isn't posting properly and gets stuck on code A2, which says the IDE is detected in the motherboard manual. There are also flashing LEDs and it stops working on the DIAGH_CPU. Other LEDs turn off, then this one flashes briefly right before the PC shuts down and restarts again. I'm not familiar with computers, so this is completely new to me. I need someone to explain what's going wrong or what parts should be replaced. It's just the GPU, a small amount of RAM, and the hard drive. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to figure out what needs fixing without going through the usual troubleshooting steps.

A2 is your disk storage, using IDE and SATA interfaces (SATA is now preferred, IDE is outdated)

Parallel ATA, also called AT Attachment or IDE, is a standard connection for IBM-compatible systems.

the joy of joys, i never realized it could begin without hd—it was the star that finally worked. all the possibilities were there, but i thought it was the motherboard or cpu. now it's running smoothly with the new drive. thanks a bunch for catching this.
