I begin in the old times with the game running at marathon speed and a vast map filled with AI foes and city-states, which makes completing the game take a long time. In the final stages, even one turn can last over an hour.
I notice the solo play feels repetitive quickly. I mainly played at full speed on SP and managed around 350 hours before diving into more serious multiplayer titles. Multiplayer sessions usually run at least four hours, but aim for six when things pick up.
