Cities question
Cities question
I'm surprised by the sheer volume of industrial traffic. Compared to SimCity 2013, this game feels much more realistic in terms of city growth, development, and road usage.
I'm trying to reach 7,500 inhabitants just to make the waste management system function properly.
The main question is, will a city with 15,000 people damage this road system, or will it work well?
That sounds interesting! I was searching for a good sim build game and would love your recommendation.
I'm just taken aback by the traffic created… Supplies from out of town for the manufacturers ofcourse … If my current population could handle this much traffic, I imagined the whole road would be packed by the time I reached 15k people.
I've also thought about how to design a farming industrial zone. Should I include large areas for farming, and will they supply goods to local shops and other industries?
Questions like that keep coming up. I plan to look into some guides on the subject. The game is quite long in this regard.
I’d suggest this game to anyone aiming to become a manager or builder — it fits the genre well.
I’ve only played for about 20 hours so far, but I really enjoy it… A variety of challenges and the way they mix together are impressive.
I think SimCity 2013 would be more demanding for a beginner, but maybe I’m the only one who could say that confidently.
I bought the game without any additional DLCs… The only concern I have is the generic building style used… A huge number of identical buildings in different colors, possibly many of those DLCs trying to fix the issue. Right now I’m not close to getting more of this game!
Zoning is the main focus here. Initially, there are limited choices for where to set up operations. Consequently, your business ends up positioned in a way that traffic flows both in and out impacts the entire city. You must move the industry to a different location, adjust routes so there’s a clear path to the industry and surrounding areas, and also from the industry back to the main city. I suggest beginning with bus routes as soon as funds allow, which can significantly reduce private car usage.
I think it won't be a major issue… I had it on the outside from the beginning. It caused some financial difficulties at first, but those are now behind us. The electricity sector uses a huge amount of power, too!
Those bus lines are still not functioning properly, but I hope things will improve.
Traffic flow can be improved by activating one-way and highway routes after unlocking them. The game sets speed limits for each road, with highways defaulting to 80km/h and city roads at 50km/h or similar. Consider checking mods such as Traffic Manager PE for further adjustments.
