after my one-month vacation I returned and attempted to print a photo. the w11 64bit model didn’t print magenta. i tried everything and checked all systems. i contacted Epson technical support, and here’s what they shared:

they began remotely accessing my computer and explained that my W11 had reached its activation limit. without the activation code, the drivers wouldn’t function properly. they warned that basic operations would be limited and eventually all installed programs would stop working. they suggested obtaining a $50 annual code for five years, totaling $300.

the remote tech representative also mentioned an article about Windows no longer supporting W10 after October 2025. i told them i had a W11, and they suggested it might have been upgraded from W10.

currently, the only issue is the printer color, while all other programs are working fine.

i recently purchased a Beelink from Amazon, which has been functioning very well for two years.

guys, i’m not sure if I’m explaining this correctly—it’s really confusing. it’s strange I’ve never heard of this before. help!

Check the activation details in Windows 11 via Settings > System > Activation. If the status shows "Active," it’s already running. Microsoft released a security update for a fee of $30, valid for one year. Find the Epson tech support number through an online search.

Oh my.
You reached the incorrect support number for your printer.
You contacted a fraudulent website, and they are deceiving you.
100%
There is no "$50 per year". Everything he said was completely inaccurate.
The Beelink had Win 11 when you used it? No problem.
Your only concern was that the magenta cart in your printer has dried up or needs cleaning.

Given this, you may need a full wipe and reinstall.
That is a VERY common method of the scammers installing something nefarious on your system.

it says "active" wtf
i went to call epson support. and got this google search result
https://www.google.com/search?q=eps...aQ...e&ie=UTF-8
i called the number ...talked for a while and the support had me do a remote. he went through my computer we were talking for 5 minutes. he linked me to a remote where he started searching my computer and then told me about the activation code. he basically explained this activation process.
i now feel like i been scammed but otoh i got three computers and they all have the same epson printing issue. how could all three have the same problem. i just tried my wife's beelink and her epson is fine....i BOUGHT HER BEELINK 2MONTHS AGO - i had my three problem computers for 2 > 7 years

this epson "issue" occurred across three computers because they are not connected in any way.

It is a printer issue, not a Beelink issue!

I just ran a scan with Malwarebytes. It found a PUP.

I performed a head clean three times prior to making any calls to "support," and the nozzle inspection turned out satisfactory.

Yes, you definitely fell victim to a scam. While you were all being friendly, he was checking your computer for passwords.
