Chrome x86 vs x64
Chrome x86 vs x64
Hi, after upgrading your laptop's RAM, you're curious about Chrome's performance on x86 versus x64 systems. From what I understand, the x64 version offers noticeable improvements mainly due to better memory handling, though it does use more RAM. The main benefit of x64 is enhanced security, but regarding speed, there might be a slight difference.
I don't believe it will make a difference using Chrome. It would depend on whether the OS is 32-bit or 64-bit.
Chrome consistently upgrades to the newest release. The current update is 64-bit, and if your device supports it, it will automatically apply the 64-bit version of Chrome.
I'm using Windows 10 build 10525 on x64 architecture, and Chrome is installed as an x86 version since that's the one I originally set up. It updates to a different version, but not for the x64 build. I've been running the x64 version for two years now, and recently increased my RAM from 4GB to 12GB.
