Occasionally, when I click a hyperlink, it launches the clicked page in a new tab but displays a fake error message urging me to call a number. To exit this tab, I must repeatedly press Ctrl + W. I've faced issues with viruses in Chrome before, so I suspect some malware might still be present after deletion attempts. I've used Google's malware removal tools and others, but they all indicate no threats remain. PLZ HALP

Explore your Chrome Extensions for any unexpected items. Disable them, refresh the page, and verify their presence once more. (A pattern I've noticed before)

If malwarebytes fails, use Superantispyware instead, and if that also doesn’t help, reinstall Chrome.

Search for instructions on removing Chrome. Next, look up ways to clear all Chrome-related files. Finally, try reinstalling Chrome. Ensure your account data is saved before proceeding.
